Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Stochastic Process Painting (14008 steps): Functional Path (Boundry Condition:Double Localization (Fasanenstraße 30) (280.16meters)): //quantized downstairs aggregate (2) by Cheyney Thompson. The price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 64,397.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cheyney Thompson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chronochrome II in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 288,339.09).

Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stochastic Process Painting (14008 steps): Functional Path (Boundry Condition:Double Localization (Fasanenstraße 30) (280.16meters)): //quantized downstairs aggregate (2) von Cheyney Thompson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 64.397,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cheyney Thompson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chronochrome II im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 288.339,09).
