Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale including Important Russian Paintings, which included the work Scène De Guignol En Plein Air by Charles Maurin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,801.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Maurin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La mer, which sold at auction in March 2017 for EUR 47,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale including Important Russian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scène De Guignol En Plein Air von Charles Maurin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.801,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Maurin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La mer beobachtet, die im März 2017 für EUR 47.500,00 versteigert wurde.
