Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dumb Luck by Charles Long was sold in the Contemporary Art Part II auction at Phillips in New York in May 2008. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,016.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Long - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 3 to 1 in Groovy Green, which sold at auction in March 2012 for USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,061.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dumb Luck von Charles Long wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Part II bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.016,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Long mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 3 to 1 in Groovy Green beobachtet, die im März 2012 für USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.061,80) versteigert wurde.
