Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Staircase Bookends by Charles LeDray was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2002. The price achieved of USD 5,975.00 (€ 6,048.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles LeDray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Promised Land in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 135,657.47).

Die Arbeit Staircase Bookends von Charles LeDray kam im September 2002 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.975,00 (€ 6.048,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles LeDray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Promised Land im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.500,00 (€ 135.657,47).
