Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Les Moutons by Chaïm Soutine was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 75,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chaïm Soutine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Bœuf in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 28,165,000.00 (€ 25,618,519.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Les Moutons von Chaïm Soutine im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 75.000,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chaïm Soutine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Bœuf im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.165.000,00 (€ 25.618.519,19).
