Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Aluminum Square Six by Carl Andre for USD 378,000.00 (€ 352,250.49). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Day Auction at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Carl Andre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Copper-Steel Alloy Square in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 2,411,250.00 (€ 2,796,877.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Aluminum Square Six von Carl Andre für USD 378.000,00 (€ 352.250,49) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Andre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Copper-Steel Alloy Square im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.411.250,00 (€ 2.796.877,07).
