Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cao Fei could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in August 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the PhotographsSummer Edition auction, the work Housebreaker changed hands for USD 2,167.50 (€ 1,836.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cao Fei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silent Curse, Nada At Home, Diversionist And City Watcher (Four Works) in October 2009 with an auction result of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 16,392.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cao Fei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silent Curse, Nada At Home, Diversionist And City Watcher (Four Works) im Oktober 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 16.392,75).
