Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Deep Breathing (Cosplayers Series) by Cao Fei for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,151.79). This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art Online: featuring the Chaney Family Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Cao Fei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silent Curse, Nada At Home, Diversionist And City Watcher (Four Works) in October 2009 with an auction result of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 16,392.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Deep Breathing (Cosplayers Series) von Cao Fei für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.151,79) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art Online: featuring the Chaney Family Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cao Fei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silent Curse, Nada At Home, Diversionist And City Watcher (Four Works) im Oktober 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 16.392,75).
