Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Prison Architect 13 (from Prison Architect Series) by Cao Fei was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 13,695.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Cao Fei have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2009 the work Silent Curse, Nada At Home, Diversionist And City Watcher (Four Works) was auctioned for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 16,392.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Prison Architect 13 (from Prison Architect Series) von Cao Fei wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 13.695,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Cao Fei konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2009 die Arbeit Silent Curse, Nada At Home, Diversionist And City Watcher (Four Works) für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 16.392,75) versteigert.
