Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Laura Mattioli Rossi by Barry X Ball was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in June 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,823.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Barry X Ball have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sleeping Hermaphrodite in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 489,447.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Laura Mattioli Rossi von Barry X Ball wurde im Juni 2017 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 49.823,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barry X Ball auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sleeping Hermaphrodite im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 545.000,00 (€ 489.447,69).
