A top price for Barry X Ball - as previously expected
In May 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Sleeping Hermaphrodite by Barry X Ball. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 545,000.00 (€ 489,447.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Sleeping Hermaphrodite is the most expensive artwork by Barry X Ball that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sleeping Hermaphrodite von Barry X Ball zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 545.000,00 (€ 489.447,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Sleeping Hermaphrodite das teuerste Kunstwerk von Barry X Ball, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
