The work Envy by Barry X Ball was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction at Christies in New York in November 2019. The »bidding war« ended at USD 471,000.00 (€ 427,443.51), 57% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Barry X Ball; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sleeping Hermaphrodite sold at auction in May 2016 with the realized price of USD 545,000.00 (€ 489,447.69).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 471.000,00 (€ 427.443,51) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Barry X Ball; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sleeping Hermaphrodite im Mai 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 545.000,00 (€ 489.447,69).
