Despite a disappointment, a good price for Augustus Thompson
When the work Natural Order (#2) by Augustus Thompson was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,316.24). Despite this disappointing result, Natural Order (#2) is the most expensive artwork by Augustus Thompson that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Augustus Thompson
Als die Arbeit Natural Order (#2) von Augustus Thompson im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 5.316,24) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Natural Order (#2) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Augustus Thompson, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
