The »bidding war« ended at USD 30,000.00 (€ 24,529.84), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Dove achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,802,500.00 (€ 6,912,820.06).

Die Arbeit Willow Tree von Arthur Dove wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Featuring The Collection of Morton and Barbara Mandel bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 24.529,84) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Dove erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.802.500,00 (€ 6.912.820,06).
