Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Nature Symbolized No. 1 (Roofs) by Arthur Dove was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2019. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,935,000.00 (€ 1,735,581.67). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Dove - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 7,802,500.00 (€ 6,912,820.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Nature Symbolized No. 1 (Roofs) von Arthur Dove kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.800.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.935.000,00 (€ 1.735.581,67) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Dove mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 7.802.500,00 (€ 6.912.820,06) versteigert wurde.
