This artwork by Armando Morales achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the Modern Day Auction auction, the work Forêt tropicale dans un orage (No. 2) sold for USD 277,200.00 (€ 258,317.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Armando Morales - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cuatro Bañistas En Canal De Plantación, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 982,000.00 (€ 929,748.15).
