Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study Of A Head by Antony Micallef was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in February 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,462.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Antony Micallef have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hobo Angel (Burger King) in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 36,552.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study Of A Head von Antony Micallef wurde im Februar 2012 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.462,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antony Micallef auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hobo Angel (Burger King) im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.900,00 (€ 36.552,54).
