Auction result well in line with expectations
The work LA Study Downtown 2 by Antony Micallef was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2012. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,061.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antony Micallef - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hobo Angel (Burger King), which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 26,900.00 (€ 36,552.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit LA Study Downtown 2 von Antony Micallef kam im März 2012 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.061,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Antony Micallef mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hobo Angel (Burger King) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 26.900,00 (€ 36.552,54) versteigert wurde.
