Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Antoine Claudet could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the PHOTOGRAPHS auction, the work Woman and man seated by a table, together holding cased photograph (possibly stereograph) and man holding magnifying glass, 1850s changed hands for GBP 956.00 (€ 1,434.35) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Antoine Claudet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chess players in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 6,659.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
