Wood from her dear grand mama when old enough to value it. 1864 by the sitter and annotated Maria Lydia Beane (Mrs. Wood) at the time of her marriage in 1856 in later hand, both in ink on 107 Regent Street paper credit label on reverse of backing paper. Arched top, paper passe-partout. With accompanying ink manuscript note. Dark blue leather case, gilt credit stamp on front.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Antoine Claudet could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Maria Lydia Beane (Mrs. Wood) changed hands for GBP 717.00 (€ 998.96) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Antoine Claudet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chess players in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 6,659.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Antoine Claudet konnte im Mai 2003 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Maria Lydia Beane (Mrs. Wood) für GBP 717,00 (€ 998,96) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antoine Claudet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chess players im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.780,00 (€ 6.659,74).
