Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction PHOTOGRAPHS, which included the work Elderly woman and man, seated by a table with box of stereographs and man holding stereo viewer, 1850s by Antoine Claudet. The price achieved of GBP 1,135.25 (€ 1,703.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antoine Claudet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Chess players, which sold at auction in May 2003 for GBP 4,780.00 (€ 6,659.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion PHOTOGRAPHS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Elderly woman and man, seated by a table with box of stereographs and man holding stereo viewer, 1850s von Antoine Claudet zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.135,25 (€ 1.703,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Antoine Claudet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Chess players beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für GBP 4.780,00 (€ 6.659,74) versteigert wurde.
