Stereoscopic daguerreotype, hand-tinted and with gilt highlights, arched-corner black-painted surround with gilt edges, paper-taped (possibly re-taped), photographer's paper credit label with 107, Regent Street address on reverse, inscribed in ink on verso Rosa D'Aguilar Sister of G. P.'s Second wife.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Rosa D'Aguilar', 1850s by Antoine Claudet was sold in the 19th and 20th Century Photographs auction at Christies in London in October 2000. The price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,104.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by Antoine Claudet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chess players in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 6,659.74).

Die Arbeit 'Rosa D'Aguilar', 1850s von Antoine Claudet wurde im Oktober 2000 in der Auktion 19th and 20th Century Photographs bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 646,25 (€ 1.104,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antoine Claudet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chess players im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.780,00 (€ 6.659,74).
