In June 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British & Irish Art, which included the work The Poppyfield by Anthony Devas. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,986.07), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Anthony Devas; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Reclining Nude sold at auction in January 2009 with the realized price of GBP 7,820.00 (€ 8,802.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Poppyfield von Anthony Devas zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.986,07) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Anthony Devas; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Reclining Nude im Januar 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 7.820,00 (€ 8.802,69).
