Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Anthony Devas could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Portrait of Laurie Lee changed hands for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,719.38) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anthony Devas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reclining Nude in January 2009 with an auction result of GBP 7,820.00 (€ 8,802.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Anthony Devas konnte im März 2006 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of Laurie Lee für GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.719,38) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Devas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reclining Nude im Januar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.820,00 (€ 8.802,69).
