Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Anthony Devas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in December 2020. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Esmond as a Cavalier sold for GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,848.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anthony Devas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Reclining Nude, which sold at auction in January 2009 for GBP 7,820.00 (€ 8,802.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Anthony Devas erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Esmond as a Cavalier für GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.848,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Anthony Devas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Reclining Nude beobachtet, die im Januar 2009 für GBP 7.820,00 (€ 8.802,69) versteigert wurde.
