Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Anthony Devas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2012. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Seaford during the war sold for GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,491.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anthony Devas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Reclining Nude, which sold at auction in January 2009 for GBP 7,820.00 (€ 8,802.69).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Anthony Devas erzielte im Mai 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Seaford during the war für GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.491,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Anthony Devas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Reclining Nude beobachtet, die im Januar 2009 für GBP 7.820,00 (€ 8.802,69) versteigert wurde.
