This artwork by Anthony Devas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2004. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Flowers in a white jug sold for GBP 4,182.50 (€ 5,919.39) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Anthony Devas; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Reclining Nude sold at auction in January 2009 with the realized price of GBP 7,820.00 (€ 8,802.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Anthony Devas erzielte im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Flowers in a white jug für GBP 4.182,50 (€ 5.919,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Anthony Devas; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Reclining Nude im Januar 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 7.820,00 (€ 8.802,69).
