This artwork by Ann Craven achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Owl (Barred Owl Looking), 2014 sold for USD 94,500.00 (€ 91,543.16) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ann Craven have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work I Wasn't Sorry, 2003 in May last year with an auction result of USD 680,400.00 (€ 634,050.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ann Craven erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Owl (Barred Owl Looking), 2014 für USD 94.500,00 (€ 91.543,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ann Craven auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit I Wasn't Sorry, 2003 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 680.400,00 (€ 634.050,88).
