In June this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Red Bird (Somewhere Red #15) by Ann Craven. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,531.75), 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ann Craven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work I Wasn't Sorry, 2003 in May last year with an auction result of USD 680,400.00 (€ 634,050.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Red Bird (Somewhere Red #15) von Ann Craven zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.531,75) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ann Craven erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit I Wasn't Sorry, 2003 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 680.400,00 (€ 634.050,88).
