In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session auction, the work Attempts at Magic sold for USD 32,760.00 (€ 29,024.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Anj Smith; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Garden II sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 39,175.43).
