This artwork by Anj Smith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in September 2021. In the New Now auction, the work Rhysomania sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,944.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Anj Smith; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Garden II sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 39,175.43).
