Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2015 Christies in New York held the auction First Open/NYC, which included the work Untitled (Man/Mirror) by Allen Ruppersberg. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,473.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Allen Ruppersberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paper Drive (For Claire) in June 2015 with an auction result of USD 57,500.00 (€ 51,551.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open/NYC durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Man/Mirror) von Allen Ruppersberg zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.473,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Allen Ruppersberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paper Drive (For Claire) im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 57.500,00 (€ 51.551,01).
