ALLEN RUPPERSBERG (B. 1944) Preview Suite the complete set of ten lithographs in colors, on wove paper, 1988, one signed and dated in pencil, one numbered in pencil 'P.P. 2' (a printer's proof set, the edition was 30), published by Landfall Press, Chicago, with their copyright blindstamp on the reverse, each with full margins, in generally very good condition, framed Each Image: 21 1 ⁄ 4 x 13 1 ⁄ 8 in. (540 x 333 mm.) Each Sheet: 22 x 13 3 ⁄ 4 in. (559 x 349 mm.)
Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Allen Ruppersberg achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July last year. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work Preview Suite sold for USD 8,820.00 (€ 8,645.36) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Allen Ruppersberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paper Drive (For Claire) in June 2015 with an auction result of USD 57,500.00 (€ 51,551.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Allen Ruppersberg erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition wurde die Arbeit Preview Suite für USD 8.820,00 (€ 8.645,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Allen Ruppersberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paper Drive (For Claire) im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 57.500,00 (€ 51.551,01).
