In October 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included this untitled work by Alfonso Ossorio. The »bidding war« ended at USD 100,000.00 (€ 85,859.02), 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfonso Ossorio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nevertheless in May last year with an auction result of USD 604,800.00 (€ 563,600.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Alfonso Ossorio zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 85.859,02) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfonso Ossorio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nevertheless im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 604.800,00 (€ 563.600,78).
