Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work A couple reading by candlelight by Abraham van Strij. The price achieved of EUR 836.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 700.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham van Strij achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An interior with a child seated in a high chair teasing a dog, a servant washing by the window behind her in November 2003 with an auction result of EUR 59,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A couple reading by candlelight von Abraham van Strij zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 836,50 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham van Strij erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An interior with a child seated in a high chair teasing a dog, a servant washing by the window behind her im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 59.750,00.
