Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of Notary Caspar Jacob Van Citters (1754-1801) In His Study, Seated Three-Quarter Length, Holding A Book, A View Of Dutch Indiamen Beyond by Abraham van Strij. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham van Strij achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An interior with a child seated in a high chair teasing a dog, a servant washing by the window behind her in November 2003 with an auction result of EUR 59,750.00.
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An interior with a child seated in a high chair teasing a dog, a servant washing by the window behind her im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 59.750,00.
