In May 2008 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work An Interior Scene With A Maid Eavesdropping On The Stairs On An Amorous Couple, A View Of A Courtyard Beyond by Abraham van Strij. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 24,250.00 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham van Strij - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An interior with a child seated in a high chair teasing a dog, a servant washing by the window behind her, which sold at auction in November 2003 for EUR 59,750.00.

Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Interior Scene With A Maid Eavesdropping On The Stairs On An Amorous Couple, A View Of A Courtyard Beyond von Abraham van Strij zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 24.250,00 und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Abraham van Strij mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An interior with a child seated in a high chair teasing a dog, a servant washing by the window behind her beobachtet, die im November 2003 für EUR 59.750,00 versteigert wurde.
