This artwork by Abraham van Strij achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2021. In the Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection auction, the work A couple reading by candlelight sold for GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,960.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham van Strij achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An interior with a child seated in a high chair teasing a dog, a servant washing by the window behind her in November 2003 with an auction result of EUR 59,750.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Abraham van Strij erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection wurde die Arbeit A couple reading by candlelight für GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.960,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham van Strij erzielen.
