In November 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Caminadora Viajera by Abigail Varela. The »bidding war« ended at USD 45,000.00 (€ 33,449.79), 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abigail Varela - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mujer Sentada En Sofa, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,270.61).

Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Caminadora Viajera von Abigail Varela zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 45.000,00 (€ 33.449,79) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Abigail Varela mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mujer Sentada En Sofa beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.270,61) versteigert wurde.
