In November 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Sentada invocando un sueño by Abigail Varela. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,506.60), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Abigail Varela have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mujer Sentada En Sofa in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,270.61).

Im November 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sentada invocando un sueño von Abigail Varela zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.506,60) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abigail Varela auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mujer Sentada En Sofa im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.270,61).
