This artwork by Zhou Zhimian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2007. In the The Mu-Fei Collection of Chinese Paintings auction, the work Birds And Insects On Flowers sold for GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,863.85) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhou Zhimian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring Swallows, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 847,500.00 (€ 69,771.69).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhou Zhimian erzielte im November 2007 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Mu-Fei Collection of Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Birds And Insects On Flowers für GBP 14.900,00 (€ 20.863,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhou Zhimian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spring Swallows beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 847.500,00 (€ 69.771,69) versteigert wurde.
