A top price for Zhou Zhimian
When the work Spring Swallows by Zhou Zhimian was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 200,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 847,500.00 (€ 69,771.69). This high result makes Spring Swallows the most expensive artwork by Zhou Zhimian that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Zhou Zhimian
Als die Arbeit Spring Swallows von Zhou Zhimian im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 200.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 847.500,00 (€ 69.771,69) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Spring Swallows zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Zhou Zhimian, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
