In September 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal, which included the work Chrysanthemum And Birds by Zhou Zhimian. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,082.38) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhou Zhimian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spring Swallows in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 847,500.00 (€ 69,771.69).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chrysanthemum And Birds von Zhou Zhimian zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.082,38) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhou Zhimian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spring Swallows im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 847.500,00 (€ 69.771,69).
