This artwork by Zhou Zhimian achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy auction, the work Magpie On Branch sold for HKD 17,700.00 (€ 2,021.10) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Zhimian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spring Swallows in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 847,500.00 (€ 69,771.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhou Zhimian erzielte im Mai 2017 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Magpie On Branch für HKD 17.700,00 (€ 2.021,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhou Zhimian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spring Swallows im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 847.500,00 (€ 69.771,69).
