This artwork by Zhou Zhimian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Flowers and Bird sold for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 8,677.24) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhou Zhimian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spring Swallows in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 847,500.00 (€ 69,771.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhou Zhimian erzielte im Mai 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Flowers and Bird für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 8.677,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhou Zhimian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spring Swallows im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 847.500,00 (€ 69.771,69).
