Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Mandarin Ducks and Plum Blossom by Zhou Zhimian. The price achieved of HKD 94,500.00 (€ 11,425.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhou Zhimian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spring Swallows in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 847,500.00 (€ 69,771.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mandarin Ducks and Plum Blossom von Zhou Zhimian zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 94.500,00 (€ 11.425,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhou Zhimian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spring Swallows im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 847.500,00 (€ 69.771,69).
