Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Song for the Departed by Zeng Chuanxing was auctioned at Phillips in London in June 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 31,250.00 (€ 35,587.92). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zeng Chuanxing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paper Bride - Prayer in May 2007 with an auction result of HKD 5,024,000.00 (€ 478,387.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Song for the Departed von Zeng Chuanxing im Juni 2017 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 31.250,00 (€ 35.587,92) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zeng Chuanxing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paper Bride - Prayer im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.024.000,00 (€ 478.387,27).
