Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition by Yves Tanguy was sold in the Modern Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 100,800.00 (€ 93,933.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yves Tanguy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L’Extinction des espèces II in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,131,250.00 (€ 3,519,989.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Composition von Yves Tanguy wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 93.933,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yves Tanguy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L’Extinction des espèces II im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.131.250,00 (€ 3.519.989,38).
