A top price for Yves Tanguy - as previously expected
The work L’Extinction des espèces II by Yves Tanguy was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in June 2019. The price achieved of GBP 3,131,250.00 (€ 3,519,989.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500,000.00 – 4,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, L’Extinction des espèces II is the most expensive artwork by Yves Tanguy that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit L’Extinction des espèces II von Yves Tanguy wurde im Juni 2019 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert.
