Dated early autumn, guimao year of the Qianlong period (1783)
Four collector’s seals, including two of Chen Guiling (19th-20th Century)
Colophons by Tiebao (Circa 1742-1813), Pingshu, Hengqing, Lu Bokun (18th-19th), Xiu Ren, Zhang Shifeng and Wang Ruyang, with a total of eleven seals

A top price for Yong Rong - as previously expected
The work Scholar’S Rock by Yong Rong was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. It changed hands for a price of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 79,280.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Scholar’S Rock is the most expensive artwork by Yong Rong that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Scholar’S Rock von Yong Rong wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 79.280,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Scholar’S Rock das teuerste Kunstwerk von Yong Rong, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
